Fishing Report

Updated May 9, 2012

Truckee River Report:
The Truckee is currently clear, comfortable, and fishy. Bug appearances: March Browns, Baetis, Green Drake Nymphs, big and small yellow stones, caddis, and PMDs. Crayfish have also started to gain activity. Nymphing and streamer techniques top the list, but there has been the occasional riser spotted. Tip of the Month: Bring a garbage bag with you and pick up trash along the banks of one (or more) of the holes you fish. This always earns karma points and keeps the Truckee beautiful! The fish and wildlife Thank You in advance!

Pyramid Lake Report:
Pyramid Lake has been a little slow this year, but there are still several weeks of trout fishing to be had.  Chironomid patterns under and indicator produce best results.  Try Chan's Ice Cream Cone Chironomid, Frostbite Chironomid, red Copper Johns, or the Patriot Midge (email Arlo for availability).  Stripping flies can also produce fish.  Wooly worms in black, chartreuse, pink and white have caught fish.  Beetle patterns in the same colors are worth a shot.
